About This Vinyl Statue
Sideshow and Artoyz Originals presents Devilo Erectus, the devilish new vinyl creation of Mist.
Mist and Artoyz Originals collaborations have a long love story! The magic team is back with Devilo Erectus, a brand new devil with a complete wild style shape and an amazing balance.
Devilo Erectus is really faithful to the freedom expressed in his paintings and graffiti, the lines are going in every directions to form always surprising curves and shapes.
The palette is bright with a juxtaposition of monochromes, so more refined than usual, we find the mythical fluid lines and angular spikes that make the signatures of Mist.
Devilo Erectus pulls the fangs out while revealing a softer look due to the bright yellow and original lines that accompany it. Resting on his tail, the vinyl stands around 7 inches.
Ideal to complete your collection by Mist!
About the Artist:
Painter and sculptor, born in Paris in 1972, Mist falls in love with graffiti during his teenage years. He discovers that new art form in 1988 walking along the railway leading to his art school, l’Ecole Estienne.
He belongs to the second generation of Parisian graffiti artists and since the beginning, he was as much into lettering and characters. Even though he was a teenager and self-educated, his style and collaborations on many creations have made of Mist a graffiti artist internationally recognized.
He’s one of the rare artists coming from Urban Art to decline his talent on walls, canvas and volumes. In 1996, he realizes his first figure inspired by his iconic character a funny devil that he painted all around the world.
Pioneer in designer toys in France, he created Bonustoyz in 2000. He produced about 10 different collectible figures with that label and his figures are collected all around the globe.
Driven by his passion for sculpture, Mist is also a prolific painter. He focuses on these two mediums for more than a decade in his workshop based in Montpellier. And if his painting draws its strength from graphic codes of graffiti, it’s also full of the learning from Art school. That double inspiration has enabled him to evolve from the streets to his workshop with work more personal and abstract while preserving the vitality and the original spontaneity of the street.
His recent personal exhibitions in France and abroad have permitted to Art collector to discover or rediscover the work of that artist who has created bridges between Urban Art and Contemporary Art.
